Energy Minister:

Tehran (IP) - Energy Minister of Iran, in a meeting with the Minister of Water Resources of Syria, announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to contribute to the reconstruction of the water and electricity industry in Syria.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to Iran Press, Iran's Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian stated in a meeting with Syria's Water Resources Minister Tammam Ra'ad on the sidelines of the third international water summit that will be held in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, that Iran is ready to use its economic and technical capacities to provide for the reconstruction of Syria.

Mehrabian expressed hope for the implementation of the MoUs of the recent visit of the President of Iran to Syria and added: "Syria has abundant water resources and an ancient agricultural industry, and Iran is ready to provide Syria with its experiences in the field of canal construction, irrigation and drainage."

Iran's Minister of Energy said: "The most important issue is that the reconstruction of Syria should be done based on priorities, so that it becomes the driving force of the activities of other sectors." Tammam Ra'ad also welcomed Iran's participation in the reconstruction of Syria and added: "The contract for the construction of two refineries in Syria was signed with the private sector of Iran in the past, and the new credit line will be activated soon."

The Minister of Water Resources of Syria welcomed Iran's presence in the reconstruction of Syria's power plant industry and expressed hope that the cooperation between the two countries would be strengthened in all fields.
