Iran Press/ Iran News: In response to Iran Press' question about the situation of the Sharif University of Technology Professor Sirous Asgari, who was rrested in the United States, Ali Rabiei said at his weekly press conference on Monday that the US manner in this regard is disgraceful.
Rabiei said if the Iranian scientist receives negative COVID-19 test results, he will be discharged from the US jail.
The revealed reports indicate how the US cares and treats its people, he said, adding that it is shameful and the US is better to stop this behavior.
The British Guardian newspaper reported on Wednesday that Sirous Asgari, an Iranian scientist imprisoned by the US government, had contracted the coronavirus.
Guardian wrote that prison officials deliberately did not provide masks and disinfectants to prisoners until they died of COVID-19.
83% of Iranians observed health protocols
Rabiei said that 83 percent of Iranians have observed and followed health protocols, adding that however, 63 percent of those living in the capital have complied with the health protocol.
He stressed that health protocols should be observed over 90% to curb the coronavirus outbreak.
Iranian Government Spokesman referred to dividing the country into three zones of White, Yellow, and Red, adding, “The government is constantly changing the categories of cities, and only high-risk jobs are closed in white zones."
Above 90% ready projects will be operational this year
Ali Rabiei said that all ministers have been told to put the above 90% ready projects into operation during the current year.
He referred to the export of N95 and three-layer facial masks, saying: "The Ministry of Health is supposed to fill its reserves for a few months, so the rest will be allowed to export."
Pointing to the difficult situation of wage earners in the country, Iranian Government Spokesman added: "But the working community is committed to the production cycle."
