Iran Press/ Middle East: The Consulate General in Basra was opened on Wednesday, in the presence of the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi, Iran's Consul General in Basra Ali Abedi, and Basra Governor Asa'ad al-Idani.
Simultaneously with the inauguration, the meeting of the heads of Iran's missions to Iraq was held at the Consulate General.
Iran's envoy to Baghdad was scheduled to visit the Chancellor of Basra University and Basra Governor.
Iran also resumed issuing tourist visas to Iraqi Kurds on Wednesday, allowing foreign tourists to enter by following health protocols.
According to Iran's Consulate General in Sulaymaniyah, the issuance of visas for the Iraqis is free, except for the money (5,000 Dinars by maximum) they pay for registering their information in the electronic visa system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
