Iran Press/ Iran News: The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made the remarks on Thursday in a meeting with the members of the Assembly of Experts.
At the end of the ninth session of the Assembly of Experts, the head and members of the body met with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei early.
The leader called falling short against the United States or any other power to avoid sanctions a great mistake, which deals a blow to political power.
“There is no one more naive than the one who says to weaken the defense power so as not to sensitize the enemy,” Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
The Leader added: "National power is vital for any country, and any country that seeks independence, greatness, and resistance against the demands of others must be strong. Otherwise, being weak, humiliated, and intimidated, brings constant worry about the greed of foreign powers."
The Leader of the Revolution called national power a composite and interconnected thing, and in expressing its pillars, he added: "'Science and technology' and 'free-thinking' are among the components of national strength, and if there is no freedom and intellectual progress, science and technology will not solve the problem."
He called security and defense power, public welfare, bargaining for national interests, culture, and lifestyle, and strong and effective logic as other factors of national power and said: "Attracting nations creates a strategic depth for each country, which is very important."
"Regional presence gives us more strategic depth & national strength. Why should we give it up? Scientific nuclear advancement has to do with the country’s needs in the near future & if we do away with [the nuclear program], who will we have to ask for [meeting our demands]? highlighted the Leader.
He stressed: "If those who wanted to cut off some arms of national power were allowed to do so, Iran would face great dangers today."
Ayatollah Khamenei said: "The devils are constantly promoting lies using their media to disappoint the nation by reducing public confidence."
He warned that the enemy was trying to deceive the people by deceiving the elites.
New wars need new weapons
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stressed that today, it is no longer possible to engage in hard war with old and traditional weapons. "This means that today it is not possible to deal with cannons and missiles with swords, spears, the case is true in Clarification Jihad too."
He added: "In my opinion, today, explaining the great concepts of Islam in various fields is the best and most effective weapon."
The Leader of the Revolution continued: "Today governance in the logic of Islam is fundamentally different from the current governments of the world. It is not like a monarchy, military leader, the presidencies, and a coup leader, it is not like any of these. It is a special thing that relies on spiritual principles."
