Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Ministry Ministry in response to the Australian government's biased stance summoned Canberra's envoy in Tehran.

Iran PressIran news: The Iranian foreign ministry stated that the Australian Ambassador Ian McConville was summoned due to what they perceived as repeated biased positions and a departure from international law standards by the Australian government regarding recent developments in the region.

In the meeting, the director of general Asia and the Pacific Department at Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs protested Australia's hypocritical approach to regional developments and emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran's "inherent right to legitimate defense."

He also criticized the international community for remaining silent on Israel's repeated attacks on Gaza and Lebanon.

The Iranian diplomat cautioned the Australian government and the international community that their silence would only empower the aggressive Zionist regime.

In the meeting, the Australian ambassador explained the movements and actions of his government to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon. He also announced that he will convey Iran's official protest to his respective government. 219
