New York (IP)- The Iranian President emphasized Tehran-Bishkek's scientific cooperation.

Iran PressAmerica: Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi pointed to the scientific progress of the country despite being targeted by sanctions. 

The Iranian President met the president of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov on Monday evening in New York. 

"Despite the wishes of Iran and Kyrgyzstan governments, the economic and commercial ties between the two countries have not yet expanded in accordance with the existing capacities," stated President Raisi.

President Raisi called for the eradication of obstacles to the further development of relations between the two countries, he enlisted the delay in the establishment of the joint commission between Iran and Kyrgyzstan and emphasized its quick setup.    

Pointing to the remarkable scientific progress of Iranian youth despite the sanctions, the president suggested his Kyrgyz counterpart to spend more time visiting Iran's science and technology parks. Congratulating Iran on its full membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Kyrgyz President considered the membership to benefit the two nations and the region.  

On the economic road map of Tehran-Bishkek, Japarov stated that with the completion of the China-Central Asia-Iran corridor and the communication platforms for the railway of the Central Asian countries with Port of Abbas, Iran-Kyrgyzstan commercial and economic exchanges can be boosted.  

Japarov also welcomed the exchange of Iran's scientific capabilities and demanded the increase of cooperation between the two countries.
