Iran's Foreign Minister met with his Jordanian counterpart on Sunday, discussing regionalal issues, including developments in in Syria.

Iran PressAmerica: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who is on diplomatic mission in New York met with Ayman Safadi on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

The two sides discussed bilateral issues, including Arab and international efforts to resolve the crisis in Syria according to the step-for-step policy and Security Council Resolution 2254, in a way that preserves Syria’s unity, security, stability and territorial integrity.

"The common opportunities and challenges of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Jordan can be the basis for the improvement of bilateral relations in the light of the positive atmosphere formed in the region," Amir-Abdollahian said in a message on X social media. "I thanked Jordan for its support for Palestine and Holy Jerusalem al Quds."
