Iran Press/ Middle East: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian added: "Today, we discussed the finalization of the legal case of the assassination of resistance martyrs, and its importance was emphasized."
The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported a united, prosperous, strong, and independent Iraq and we also support the Iraqi government's decision to determine its own destiny."
Iranian top diplomat noted, "We congratulate the stabilization of the political and security situation in Iraq, which is a strength point for the country."
Amir-Abollahian stated: "In the shadow of strategic and privileged relations between our two countries, we are one nation in two independent geographies. We have always welcomed the constructive and effective role of the Iraqi government in regional developments. We have welcomed Iraq's policy to develop relations with the countries of the region and the Islamic world. We thank Iraqis for their efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and dialogue. This is the policy that Raisi's administration underlines."
The Iranian senior diplomat stressed: "We are grateful for Dr. Fuad Hussein's role in helping regional discussions. In the past months, we held important talks in Tehran and Baghdad. Following up on Iraq's commitments and finalizing the agreement document that was obtained as a result of these talks with the aim of confronting the terrorist groups based in the region received our serious attention."
"Iran believes that the Iraqi government has decided that this country will not be a base for threatening Iran and that the central government has taken important measures in this direction." Iranian diplomat went on to say, "We hope that we will witness the implementation of the agreements as soon as possible. One of the issues was to finalize the comprehensive and long-term cooperation document between Tehran and Baghdad. Soon we will present our suggestions to Dr. Fuad Hussein and hope that the document will be finalized in the joint high commission between the two countries."
Amir-Abdollahian elsewhere noted, "Our efforts to continue cooperation within the framework of bilateral agreements, including the 1975 agreement, especially on Arvand River dredging, the redefining of the boundary along the thalweg to develop the neighboring provinces of Arvand River."
While welcoming the Iraqi parliament's decision to expel foreign military forces from the country, the Iranian official highlighted, "Strengthening the transit cooperation and pilgrimage tourism between the two countries, completing the Shalamcheh-Basra railway and the Kermanshah-Khosravi-Manzariyah-Baghdad railway is on the agenda of both sides. We emphasize the necessity of continuous transportation of goods to the provinces of the two countries."
