Tehran (IP) - The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health, Sima Sadat Lari on Wednesday in her presser said, over 248,000 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and near 210,000 of total infected people have recovered and discharged so far.

Iran Press/Iran News: Sima Sadat Lari on Wednesday about the latest data on the coronavirus in the country and the deaths caused by the virus, said: "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to June 8 in the country, 2,691 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed and the number of patients with this disease reached 248,379."

1,625 of the new patients were hospitalized in the past 24 hours, She said.

The Spokeswoman went on to say that, "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 153  COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, thus 12,084 people have lost their lives in the country to date."

She said that so far 209,463 of total infected people have recovered and discharged from hospitals and medical centers.

The official stated, "3,309 patients are in intensive care units."

"So far, around 1,872,391 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman said.

According to the spokeswoman, the provinces of Khuzestan, Hormozgan, Bushehr, Kermanshah, Kurdistan, Ilam, West, and East Azerbaijan, and Khorasan Razavi are in the red situation.

The provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Mazandaran, Golestan, Alborz, Kerman, Yazd, Sistan and Baluchestan, Hamedan, and Ardabil are on the alert situation (Yellow).

The National Task Force for fighting Coronavirus also called on the people to refrain from unnecessarily traveling, especially to the provinces of Khorasan Razavi and Mazandaran.
