Iran Press/Iran News: Kamal Kharazi, former Foreign Minister and the head of Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not give in to the oppression of foreigners.
The unilateral and misguided policies of the three European states (Britain, France, and Germany) participating in JCPOA and, above all, the United States to stop Iran's peaceful nuclear activities have always backfired, and Tehran is more determined to continue developing its peaceful nuclear technology.
Kharazi also referred to the suspicious behavior of Rafael Grossi, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in a meeting with Brian Hook, the US government's special envoy for Iran, and said: "The meeting depicted the scale of dependence and independence of the director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, also it showed from where Grossi is taking orders and how the action of the three European countries is planned."
The head of Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations stressed that the continuation of the wrong policies of the Europeans is not tolerable for Iran, noting: "Today, Iran is able to build and operate its powerful centrifuge machines in very large numbers and in a short period of time to increase its production capacity to 90,000 SWU in response to the non-fulfillment of the obligations of the other side.
Saying that the West should know that economic sanctions and arms embargo will not prevent Iran from pursuing its independent strategic path, Kharazi added: "Iran has so far pursued a policy of self-sufficiency in the face of maximum Western pressure, and has achieved undeniable success in producing the weapons it needs for legitimate defense."
The UN Security Council hold a meeting on Tuesday, June 30 on the agenda of the UN Secretary-General's report on Resolution 2231.
Diplomatic efforts to reach a comprehensive, long-term and proper solution to the Iranian nuclear issue culminated in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) concluded on 14 July 2015 by China, France, Germany, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, the United States, the High Representative of the European Union (the E3/EU+3) and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew his country from the international agreement on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in violation of Washington's commitments under the JCPOA, and announced the return of nuclear sanctions.
UNSC meeting on Tuesday was a US aimless effort to extend Iran's arms embargo in complete violation of UNSCR 2231 and JCPOA, which Washington once again faced with global support for JCPOA at the Security Council meeting.
