A specialized meeting focusing on the crimes committed by the Israeli regime against women was hosted by the Permanent Secretariat of the International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada in Tehran on Wednesday.

Iran Press/Iran news: As the conflict in Gaza, now ongoing for more than a year, escalates, the Israeli regime has perpetrated various forms of violence against the densely populated region. This has occurred with unwavering support from allies, particularly the United States.

The war against Gaza has been described as one of the worst and most unprecedented crimes against humanity, resulting in over 43,000 casualties and tens of thousands more injured. It has also led to numerous records of various forms of violence.

Since the onset of the genocide, which began on October 7 against the Palestinian people, at least 8,900 Palestinian women have been martyred, with over 23,000 injured. Additionally, 2,100 Palestinian women are reported missing, and more than half a million are displaced. The situation for around 60,000 pregnant women remains dire, as they lack even the most basic healthcare facilities.

The meeting highlighted the urgent need for international awareness and action regarding the ongoing humanitarian crisis and the specific challenges faced by women in conflict zones. Participants emphasized the importance of protecting human rights and providing support for those affected by the violence.

This gathering serves as a critical reminder of the impact of war on vulnerable populations, particularly women, who bear the brunt of such conflicts. The call for global solidarity and action remains vital as the situation in Gaza continues to unfold.
