The head of the Islamic Culture and Communications Organization Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour has said that the first international conference on human rights on the East Approach will be held simultaneously in Tehran, Qom, and Isfahan from April 28 to May 2.

Human rights are one of the most fundamental issues in societies that have recently been exploited as political tools, and some governments have ignored human rights completely.

"Today, a clear example of human rights violations is ongoing genocide in Gaza," Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour said.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has a lot to say in the field of human rights and for this purpose, it has reached out to other countries and at this conference is seeking to form a global human rights coalition with a new model," he said.
