Tehran Mayor Pirouz Hanachi

Tehran's mayor has emphasized that half of the population of Iran is young and highly-educated, and this is considered a great advantage for the country.

Iran Press/Iran news: Tehran's mayor, Pirouz Hanachi highlighted Iran's young and educated population and said that the municipalities can prepare the way for them to set up their business.

He made the remarks in the 11th festival of research and innovation on urban management and 6th festival of research and urban and rural training which was held on Saturday in Tehran's Milad Tower, Iran Press reported.

The head of Tehran's Islamic council Mohsen Hashemi also was another speaker who stressed the significance of research and said that before making any decisions conducting research is essential.

Mohsen Hashemi said that there are two kinds of research, one is pure research, (experienced one) to invent and feel the truth by yourself and the other is applied research which is used for solving problems, improving people's living standards.

Nevertheless, the deputy for Urban Development and Urban-Rural Affairs of the Interior Minister Mehdi Jamali Nezhad, also delivered a speech at this festival saying that there are no limitations for learning.

In the past, he said, once Iran was the source of science and knowledge, stressing that serious action is needed to involve youngsters in the urban management field and apply science.

The Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, Minister of Sciences Mansour Gholami, Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari, and Tehran Mayor Pirouz Hanachi participated in the event. 101/211/207
