NY (IP) - Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran met with the Prime Minister of Qatar on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Iran PressAmerica:  In a meeting with the Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian appreciated the constructive role of Qatar in bilateral issues, including the recent development in the exchange of prisoners between Iran and the United States.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

In this meeting, bilateral issues and some regional and international interest topics were discussed.

Amir-Abdollahian expressed his satisfaction with the growing relations trend between Tehran and Doha and underlined the need to strengthen this cooperation.

He reiterated Iran's readiness to boost cooperation in regional and international fields.

For his part, the Qatari official expressed his readiness to strengthen relations in bilateral, regional, and international fields with Iran.
