The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbass Araghchi, who is in Syria, met on Saturday with President Bashar Al-Assad. The two sides exchanged views on various regional and international issues.

This morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman, Esmail Baqaei, announced on his page on X that Araghchi had arrived in Syria and wrote: "Foreign Minister and his delegation arrived in Damascus for an official visit to Syria."

 

Araghchi is consulting with high-ranking officials of Syria on regional bilateral relations and developments.

Earlier, the foreign ministers of Iran and Syria discussed the latest security developments in the region and the development of bilateral relations during a meeting in Damascus.

 

Upon arrival in Damascus airport Iran's Foreign Minister urged the international community to unite in efforts to stop the ongoing crimes committed by the Israeli regime in Lebanon and Gaza.

Araghchi highlighted the critical importance of achieving a ceasefire in the conflict zones and expressed hope for positive outcomes from ongoing regional consultations. 300
