Iranian Ambassador to the UK Hamid Baeidinejad

The Iranian embassy in London has filed a complaint about the London-based Persian language TV channels for distorting recent developments in Iran to the British Office of Communications, known as Ofcom.

Iran PressEurope: Iran’s Ambassador to the UK Hamid Baeidinejad tweeted on Friday that Tehran has filed complaint of biased distortions of the recent incidents and also the invitation for the spread of violence against civil society organizations in Iran by London-based Persian language TV channels of BBC Persian, Iran International and Manoto TV to Ofcom and urged law enforcement regarding these channels.

Recent violent demonstrations in Iran took place after the government increased gas prices on November 15, in order to moderate the national consumption rate.

The move prompted some peaceful protests, but riotous elements, abusing the situation, quickly entered the scene, destroying public property, setting ablaze banks and gas stations, and opening fire on people and security forces.

Meanwhile, anti-revolutionary TV channels outside Iran have stepped up anti-Iranian propaganda and advocated for unrest, instigating people to take to street and continue violence.
