During the meeting, both sides hailed growing relations between the two countries, stressing the need for promotion of bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, investment, industries, educational and vocational training and banking affairs.
Earlier, Zarif paid a two-day visit to Serbia and held talks on bilateral ties with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic , Speaker of Parliament Maja Gojkovic , President Aleksandar Vucic and the country’s foreign minister.
Zarif also delivered a speech at Iran-Serbia Joint Trade Conference attended by three Serbian ministers, head of Serbian Chamber of Commerce and over 70 Iranian and Serbian companies.
He arrived in Zagreb from Sofia on the third leg of his tour of Balkans and Eastern Europe which will also take him to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Zarif, heading a politico-economic delegation, left Tehran for a visit to four Eastern European countries on Monday.
He already visited Serbia and Bulgaria before arriving in Croatia. He is also scheduled to pay a visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina .
A high-ranking trade delegation comprising economic activists and entrepreneurs from private and public sectors are accompanying Zarif during his tour of Balkans and East European states, Foreign Ministry spokesmen Bahram Qasemi earlier said.
Meeting his counterparts and other top officials of those countries and meetings between Iranian traders and their counterparts in those countries are on the agenda of the Iranian foreign minister's 4-nation tour, Qasemi added.
