Qazvin (IP) - The latest statistics provided by the Iranian health ministry shows that the number of Iran's COVID-19 daily deaths has been under 130 since August 25.

Iran Press/Iran news: Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said on Wednesday that some 125 more Iranians have died from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 21,797.

Some 1,858 new cases of infection with the COVID-19 were found over the past 24 hours, some 1,136 of whom have been hospitalized, she added.

Lari noted that a total of 378,752 Iranians have been confirmed infected with the COVID-19, some of 326,801 who have recovered or discharged from the hospital.

Some 3,693 other COVID-19 patients are in a critical condition and being treated in intensive care units, the spokeswoman said.

She added that 3,281,961 tests have been carried out in Iran.

According to Lari, the provinces of Tehran, Mazandaran, Gilan, Qom, Isfahan, Khorasan Razavi, East Azerbaijan, Kerman, North Khorasan, Semnan, Yazd, Zanjan, and Qazvin are marked as red zones.

"The provinces of West Azerbaijan, Alborz, Fars, Lorestan, Hormozgan, Ardabil, Bushehr, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, South Khorasan, Markazi, Ilam, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Golestan, and Khuzestan are also on alert," the spokeswoman highlighted.
