Iran Press/ Iran News: Saeed Khatibzadeh called the statement a selective approach which lacked value and credibility, and assessed it as fundamentally at odds with the human rights promotion approach.
Khatibzadeh considered any abuse of human rights mechanisms and interference in the internal affairs of our country unacceptable and emphasized: This is not a new phenomenon in which some European countries are indifferent and silent in the face of their biggest human rights violations and those of their allies.
They are competing in selling billions of dollars in weapons to Saudi Arabia and regional dictators to kill defenseless Yemenis, he added.
He said the crackdown on protesters, the killing of blacks, the massacre of minorities, especially Muslims, the persecution of prisoners, and the repression of migrants within the union's borders were considered law enforcement, but at the same time, the implementation of judicial action under criminal law by a legal court in other countries is considered a violation of human rights.
Khatibzadeh added: "This double standard shows the lack of honesty of this group of countries in supporting human rights and the political use of this concept."
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman stated: "Development and promotion of human rights at the national, regional and international levels within the framework of religious obligations and adherence to the Constitution, domestic law and international treaties are among the permanent priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and in practice, has committed itself to comply with it."
