Tehran (IP) - The Islamic Republic of Iran and China have signed a joint statement to protect cultural heritage.

Iran PressIran news: According to Iran Press News Agency, the joint statement of Iran and China on cooperation in the Asian Initiative for the Protection of Cultural Heritage was signed by Mohammad Hassan Talebian, Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, and Li Chun, Head of China Cultural Heritage, via video conferencing.

"Iran and China are two ancient civilizations and have a great cultural heritage," said Chang Hua, China's ambassador to Iran, who attended the event via video conferencing.

Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh, Iran's ambassador to China, also said: "The two countries, as two ancient civilizations in West and East Asia, have had and still have friendly relations since ancient times."

Keshavarzzadeh added: "The 25-year comprehensive cooperation program between Iran and China is a turning point in the relations between the two countries, which shows the determination of the leaders of the two countries to develop relations."
