Iran Press/ Iran News: Hassan Kazemi Qomi said today, that the Taliban made an attempt to build a road in the Dowqarun border area without prior coordination, which was confronted by the Islamic Republic of Iran's Border Guard Command and stopped.
Iran's move was reacted to also. Taliban forces showed resistance, and the two sides went on standby after the dispute.
An informed source in Herat confirmed the closure of the Islām Qala border and the dispute between Iran and Afghanistan border forces, stressing that no clashes took place between the Iranian border guards and the Taliban border forces.
Islām Qala, known historically as Kafir Qala, is a border town in the western Herat province of Afghanistan, near the Afghanistan–Iran border. It is the official entry by land from neighboring Taybad, northwest of Iran.
