Iranian foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, in a meeting with Brazilian President Michel Temer called for broadened economic relations and trade balance between the two countries.

Zarif referred to possible areas of cooperation between the two countries, such as  energy, transportation, agriculture and advanced technologies. 
He also called for removing banking barriers by creating brokerage ties between the two sides. 
The two men also discussed trade using national currencies of both countries, cooperation in oil and gas sector, implementing joint high tech projects in nanotechnology, bio-technology and aerospace, and facilitating trade business and commercial transactions between Tehran and Brasilia.

In further comments, Zarif said: "Both countries need to broaden relations to promote economic activities.  Iran is ready for investment by Brazil in oil and gas projects, as well as the transportation sector."

Zarif appreciated the Brazilian government's stance vis-a-vis  Iran’s right to have a peaceful civilian nuclear industry.  He also called for continuation of political talks between the two countries. 
For his part, the Brazilian president, Michel Temer, expressed interest in developing ties with Iran and establishing cooperation in the field of advanced technologies.

Temer called for exchange of political and economic delegations, saying it will result in cementing relations between Tehran and Brasilia.  He also welcomed cooperation in oil and gas field with Iran.
