Zahedan (IP) - Iran's interior minister announced during his visit to the Mirjaveh border that the first phase of 90 km of blocking the eastern borders will be completed within a year.

Iran's Interior Minister Iskandar Momeni said that by blocking 90 kilometers of the common border between Iran and Pakistan, we will prevent the entry of unauthorized nationals, the smuggling of goods and drugs into the country, and stable security in Sistan and Baluchistan.

The first phase of the 90-kilometer Iran-Pakistan border blockade project started four months ago and will be completed by the first half of next year.

Momeni added that the plan to block the border is not only physical but also a combination of the wall and smart systems including radar and optical equipment. We hope that by completing the blockade, we will witness preventing of the entry of unauthorized nationals, the prevention of smuggling, and the provision of stable security, which is the basis for the growth and development of every region. 204
