The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq met with his British counterpart in Baghdad on Tuesday, discussing the latest regional developments.

Iran PressMiddle East: Mohammad Kazem Al-e Sadeq and Mark Bryson-Richardson, in the meeting at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad, discussed the latest political situations in Iraq, the current status of the international coalition forces in the Arab country, Iraq’s role-playing in the region and other issues of mutual interest.

Al-e Sadeq said in the meeting that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the establishment of a strong and dynamic government in Iraq.

He also referred to the background of Iran’s contributions to the restoration of peace and stability in Iraq, such as the campaign against the ISIS terrorists.

The Iranian envoy, meanwhile, expressed hope that the west will refrain from resorting to double standards in the process of its campaign against terrorism.
