Ilam (IP) - Ilam Customs Director said that goods worth $537 million were exported from Mehran International Border to Iraq and other countries.

Iran PressIran news: Ruhollah Gholami, the Director General of Customs of Ilam Province in Western Iran, reported on Thursday a 9% increase in the value of goods weighing 1.65 million tons this year compared to the previous year.  

Gholami said that the primary goods exported are stone, tiles, ceramics, iron, metal, vegetables, petrochemical products, iron ore, cement clinker, plastic products, glass, and related items, as well as cars and spare parts.

He emphasized that the trucks exporting goods to the Mehran border are currently in motion, and the export process is proceeding smoothly without any interruptions.

Mehran, a city located in the Ilam province near the border of Iraq, is approximately 230 kilometers away from Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. This city has become a hub for exports and pilgrimage to the neighboring country.

The border city of Mehran is located 85 km southwest of Ilam.
