Iran Press/ Asia: During the meeting between the Iranian Ambassador to Baku Abbas Mousavi and the Deputy Prime Minister Şahin Mustafayev and the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov, the two sides discussed the latest developments in Nagorno-Karabakh, especially in the areas near the borders of the two countries and the principled positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baku called the meeting constructive.
Mousavi recently wrote on his Twitter page about Iran's position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia: "Iran's foreign policy is not determined in Washington, London, Beijing, Baku, Yerevan, Moscow or Ankara; we decide on national interests and the security of the country with independence and authority in Tehran."
He added that psychological and media warfare of governments, regimes, or 'special circles' have no bearing on what should or should not be done.
The Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia disagree on the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
The two countries' dispute over the Nagorno-Karabakh region began in 1988.
A new round of clashes began on September 27, and a number of forces on both sides were killed or wounded.
