Tehran (IP) – Director-general of Iran’s Arab and African Office of the Trade Promotion Organization said that in 2019, Iran traded about $22 billion with the countries of the Persian Gulf and the Middle East.

Iran PressIran News: According to the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, "Farzad Pilten", 12 billion and 500 million dollars out of 22 billion dollars related to Iran's exports to the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf and the Middle East, including Iraq, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia which have imported about $ 9 billion goods from Iran.

He added that in terms of exports, Iraq was ranked first with about $ 9 billion, the UAE was ranked first and second with $ 2.5 billion, and Oman with $ 450 million, Qatar with $ 200 million, Kuwait with $ 180 million, and Syria with $ 160 million respectively.

Pilten said Lebanon with $ 30 million, Jordan with $ 21 million, and Bahrain with $ 10 million are next.

In the field of imports, the UAE ranked first with $ 8.7 billion and Oman with $ 167 million, Iraq with $ 131 million, Jordan with $ 21 million, and Lebanon with $ 18 million, respectively. Qatar ranks next with $ 12 million, Syria with $ 11 million and Bahrain with $ 2 million.

 According to him, trade relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia were severed in 2019 and there was virtually no direct trade between the two countries.

According to the statistics published in 2019, among the mentioned countries, the UAE is ranked second in Iran's foreign trade with the countries of the world and Iraq in 4th place.

Oman is ranked 18th, Qatar is ranked 34th, Kuwait is ranked 39th, Syria is ranked 41st, and Jordan 63rd.
