Tehran (IP) - The foreign ministers of Iran and China on Sunday engaged in a telephone conversation, during which Hossein Amir-Abdollahian congratulated Wang Yi on his re-appointment as China's foreign minister.

Amir-Abdollahian highlighted the successful implementation of agreements between the presidents of Iran and China, emphasizing the advancement of their comprehensive 25-year cooperation program. He expressed satisfaction with the program's direction.

Wang Yi, while acknowledging the strategic relations between Iran and China, shared his country's perspective on the BRICS summit in South Africa and issues related to expanding its membership.

He also recognized Iran as a key member of the One Belt, One Road initiative and emphasized the significance of Iran's presence at the upcoming meeting.

Furthermore, Wang Yi expressed contentment with Amir-Abdullahian's visit to Saudi Arabia and praised the progress in relations between Tehran and Riyadh.
