Iran Press/ Asia: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iranian Foreign Minister,, arrived at Yerevan capital Thursday at the head of a high-ranking political and parliamentary delegation.
Upon his arrival, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran told the journalists, "We will take the opportunity to review the issues and bilateral relations that are on the agenda of the two countries."
He clarified that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Armenia have many issues for cooperation and shared concerns in the region.
"We are trying to find solutions, and in this trip, we are looking to chart the path of long-term cooperation between the two countries. We have already agreed with our Armenian counterpart in this regard, Amir-Abdollahian said.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran announced the drawing of a map and document of long-term cooperation between the two sides.
" We are against the presence of foreigners in this region, whether in Azerbaijan or Armenia, and this trip is an opportunity to discuss strategic issues, and the joint regional cooperation. I will discuss with high-ranking officials of Armenia and also with my counterpart."
He added: "I am very pleased that in the past year, in line with the strengthening of the neighborhood-oriented policy of the new government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the volume of commercial exchange between Tehran and Yerevan has increased by more than 43.5 percent compared to the previous year."
