Iran Press/ Iran News: Attending his weekly press conference and responding to Iran Press about the “Hirmand agreement” between Iran and Afghanistan, Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that the agreement would be examined.
He noted that the Hirmand agreement goes back to fifty years ago, and through many years, Afghans did not stay committed to the agreement, according to article three.
He noted that the Water Commissioners and Energy Ministry in Iran were responsible for following the agreement, and they have done so.
“Whether the past Afghan governments or the present one must be committed to the agreement and its implementation is important for the Islamic Republic of Iran,” said Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, noting that Iran is following the case.
We heard enough about US delayed measure
Iran's spokesman for Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Iran had heard enough, and it is waiting for an action that has been delayed for months.
In response to a question about the Iran-Saudi talks and the problem between Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, Saeed Khatibzadeh said: "Our talks with Saudi Arabia are bilateral and regional, and we do not talk about our friends to anyone."
He added: "I think Riyadh also knows that the pressure policy on other countries has lost its effect for some time and it is natural that Iran stands by the people of Yemen and Lebanon."
Meanwhile the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "The talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia are continuing in earnest, and its success depends on the seriousness of the other side and passing through mere statements in the media."
Responding to a question raised about the words of Jake Sullivan, American political advisor who serves as the United States National Security Advisor to President Joe Biden, Khatibzadeh said: "There has been no dialogue between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States for a long time." Since the withdrawal of the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, as a member of the Joint Commission at the time, there have been no direct or indirect contacts or meetings.
He added: "In violation of UNSCR 2221, the United States illegally withdrew from JCPOA and made every effort to overthrow it, imposing trans-regional, cruel and illegal sanctions on the Iranian people, and made every effort to do so. It has hindered the normal relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the fields of trade and economy with other countries, and in this regard, it has gone so far as to not only put pressure on companies that cooperated with the Islamic Republic of Iran, but also to punish its allies."
Khatibzadeh said: "It is natural that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as long as these facts are not changed on the ground, does not imagine that a dialogue between Tehran and Washington will be held within any form and format."
Khatibzadeh reminded: "As it was said in the Vienna talks, the talks are to ensure a definite, committed and practical return of the United States to its obligations, so Iran and other P4+1 members were negotiating to make sure that the US return to JCPOA would done with the right intention and with considerable conditions and details."
Stating that the situation has not changed yet, he said: "The actions and programs pursued by the Biden's administration to date are contrary to the intention announced by Mr. Sullivan.""We've heard enough," he said. We are waiting for an action that has been delayed for months."
Trump ridicules JCPOA, int'l mechanism & law
The spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called Trump as the person who has not only ridiculed member states of JCPOA but also it did the same thing about international law and international mechanisms.
Saeed Khatibzadeh added that what Trump did was not only to ridicule the member states of the JCPOA, but also to ridicule international law and international mechanisms.
Khatibzadeh pointed out: "Of course, there have been discussions about what kind of legal and political guarantees we should include in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). To this day, the United States has seen itself outside the realm of any guarantee, imagining that it is the Universal police man and can take advantage of its position at any time.
Iran's top Diplomat added: "Certainly in the case of the JCPOA, we will not allow our economy, which once came out of that shock, to be in a state of doubt again."
In response to another question about the recent position of the countries on the southern shores of the Persian Gulf regarding the Iranian islands, Khatibzadeh said: "Our position is unchanged." The Iranian islands have always been, are and will be Iranian. If these countries look at the maps of the region for at least the last 70 years, they realize that some of these countries do not even see themselves on the map.
He described the relations between Iran and the IAEA as a technical and professional relationship and said: "The two Atomic Energy Organizations of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Organization have regular and precise relations." In previous trips, some formal meetings took place. If a trip is arranged, if a meeting is on the agenda, this meeting will definitely take place. If Atomic Energy Organization of Iran finalizes the program, there will surely be meeting between Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Rafael Grossi, and there is no ban on doing so.
Elsewhere Khatibzadeh went on to say in response to a question about the allocation of $ 1.5 billion by the Zionist regime for orchestrating military action against Iran's nuclear facilities: "We were closely monitoring the events and those who carried out these provocative actions also know that we are monitoring their actions.
Khatibzadeh, stating that it was a colorless and odorless show and worth not paying more attention to, said: "We have never ruled out or ignored the threats of the occupying regime in al-Quds for the stability and security of the region." Basically, the nature of this regime is crisis-creating, and the roots of this regime are growing in insecurity and instability, and therefore it does not create any secure environment.
He added: "At the same time, the occupying regime in Al-Quds is well aware of Iran's capabilities and its limitations, and it also knows that the Islamic Republic of Iran plays no joke with anybody about its security."
In response to a question about the US Secretary of State's remarks, Khatibzadeh said: "If JCPOA is in this situation today and at this point, Mr. Blinken should not forget the fact that " We are at this point because the United States stubbornly withdrew from the JCPOA in violation of the obvious provisions of international law.
Khatibzadeh reminded: If the American foreign policy system suffers from a localized Alzheimer's, it is necessary to repeatedly tell them which side left the JCPOA.
The FM spokesman added: "Despite all these issues, the Islamic Republic of Iran fulfilled all its obligations with exercising one-year strategic patience to Take remedial measures, which were also carried out in accordance with the provisions of the JCPOA.
He said: "Obviously the American side knows all this, but about some repetitive and, to be more precise, inanimate statements, like the options on the US table, it knows what its options are, as if it tried its options in Afghanistan."
Khatibzadeh pointed out that the US government should try new literature and logic based on respect, instead of falling into the trap of extremist literature and logic, and instead of falling into the trap of those who do their best to preserve Trump's failed legacy. To create the rights of nations, and in that case know for sure that the international community will accept the right action with open arms.
