Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said Iran and Iraq could be the pillars of security in the region.

Iran Press/Iran news: In an interview with BBC Arabic on the sidelines of a recent visit to Iraq, Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Iran and Iraq could be the pillars of security and cooperation in the region.

US unable to separate Iran and Iraq

Zarif added that Iran is looking for a "strong region" strategy and that the United States will not be able to separate Iran and Iraq.

Iranian Foreign Minister reiterated that Saudi Arabia must stop the illusion of removing Iran from the region.

Syrian crisis has no military solution

Elsewhere in the interview, Zarif stated that the Syrian crisis has no military solution and that Iran's position has not changed since the Syrian crisis started.

According to an Iran Press report, Zarif also said Iran is proud to stand with the Iraqi people during periods of hardship.

Zarif said: "President Rouhani was waiting to travel to Iraq after the victory of the Iraqi people against terrorism and extremism. We are proud to stand with the Iraqi people during these hardships and after their political victory. The recent election in Iraq was a symbol of the maturity of democracy in that country."

Iran's foreign minister emphasized that the alliance between Iran and Iraq is beyond ethnic, religious, and religious boundaries, and the two countries can be the pillars of security and cooperation in the region.

Iran's regional strategy, 'Strong Region'

"We believe the region needs the cooperation of all the parties. We have a regional strategy called 'Strong Region', not strong countries, nor strong men. We have enough strong men, we need a strong region. Our position is very clear. We want a dialogue," Zarif concluded.   103/211/213
