Tehran(IP) - As 70 years have passed since the beginning of injustice and oppression against the Palestinian people, International Quds Day has become an opportunity for the world's nations to unite and cry out against the victimization of Palestine, a senior Iranian lawmaker says.

Iran PressMiddle East: Abolfazl Amouei, the spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian parliament, said during an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Monday, on the sidelines of the fourth International Conference on Al-Quds Sharif, that "International Quds Day is an opportunity for the world's nations to unite and raise their voices in unison against the continued oppression and victimization of the Palestinian people. "Palestine has been suffering from an ancient wound, and the world has been a witness to its pain for the past 70 years."

He added that "Zionists continue to exert pressure on the oppressed people of Palestine, using regional and international conditions to their advantage."

The recent events at Al-Aqsa Mosque, where Israeli forces attacked and violated the rights of worshippers, as well as the ongoing oppression against the Palestinian people, have made this year's Quds Day even more significant. "For this reason," Amouei emphasized, "all those who stand for freedom and human rights must seize this opportunity on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, and with a show of disgust against Zionists, raise their voices against the suffering of the Palestinian people."

The continued occupation of Palestine, the illegal settlements, and the violence against Palestinians, especially in recent years, are clear examples of Zionist aggression and disregard for international law. International Quds Day serves as a reminder to the world of the ongoing struggle of the Palestinian people for justice, freedom, and their inalienable right to self-determination.

International Quds Day calls on the international community to stand in solidarity with Palestine and take effective measures to end the occupation and bring about a just and lasting peace in the region.
