Iran Press/ Iran news: After two years passed from the US assassination of Lt. gen Qassem Soleimani and his companions, Instagram does not tolerate the sharing of posts including texts, films, and images of the Iranian anti-terrorism hero, deleting the Iranian Minister of Culture Mohammad Medhi Esmailis' post.
General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) deputy head Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were assassinated along with their companions in a US drone strike authorized by former President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.
They were highly popular because of their key role in eliminating the US-backed ISIS terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.
After the widespread censorship of pictures and videos related to Martyr Soleimani on Instagram, and with the arrival of the second martyrdom anniversary of General Soleimani and his companions, Iranian users launched a spontaneous campaign to protest Instagram.
