Chief Economic Officer of Iran's Leader's Office:

Tehran (IP): Chief Economic Officer of the Leader's Office, said that two refineries worth 7 billion euros were currently under construction and it means that by processing more petroleum in refineries, we will sell less crude sales.

Iran PressIran News: Ali Aghamohammadi today at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding for the development of Azadegan field said: "If we want something to happen in the country, we need investment that is achieved by using all the national power. Increasing oil and gas production gives the country power and is very important in the global arena," he said.

He noted: "Instead of taxes, we used Iran's oil resources to run the country. With this process, we will have an old and poor country after 30 years, and this is the most dangerous phenomenon."

Aghamohammadi stressed: "After we get the oil, we can also process it in petroleum refineries, and increasing production does not mean increasing crude sales. Two huge petroleum refineries are being built with an investment of 3.5 billion euros each."

Chief Economic Officer of Iran's Leader's Office also stated: "In a 25-year plan, if the prices do not change significantly, we may have 1,500 billion dollars of resources for investment from this place."

Aghamohammadi stated: "Today, domestic companies are doing this because of the sanctions. It is a very important step that can be seen in other sectors of the Iranian economy."

The ceremony was held on Monday in the presence of the Iranian Minister of Oil Bijan Zangeneh and the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Masoud Karbasian for signing three documents between NIOC and 5 Iranian exploration and production firms on May 31st, 2021.
