Dushanbe (IP) - The celebration of Imam Ali's auspicious birth anniversary and Father's Day was held at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tajikistan.

Iran PressAsia: Imam Ali's birth anniversary and Father's Day was held at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tajikistan in the presence of Iran's ambassador to Dushanbe, staff of the embassy, Tajik cultural and literary figures and a large number of Iranians residing in Tajikistan.

At the ceremony, the Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mohammad Taghi Saberi, congratulated the auspicious birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS) and Father's Day, saying: "Imam Ali (AS), who has infinite personality aspects, is a wonder of the world and an example of God's perfect power and word."

Referring to the unique attributes and characteristics of Amir al-Mu'minin (Commander of the Faithful) (AS), the Iranian ambassador stated: "Imam Ali (AS) is like an ocean that cannot be encompassed in all its dimensions at a glance, even in a long-term study."

Shia Muslims in Iran and other parts of the world mark the auspicious birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), the first Shia Imam; the occasion is considered as the national Father's Day and Men's Day in Iran as well.

In the Muslim world, Imam Ali (AS) is known for his courage, profound knowledge, equality and justice. 

Millions of Muslims also flock to the shrine of Imam Ali (AS) in Iraq’s holy city of Najaf to celebrate the occasion.  

Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS) was born 23 years before the Hijrah (migration) of the Holy Prophet of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
