Iran Press/ Asia: Seyyed Abbas Araghchi Iranian Foreign Minister after meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Monday in Ankara took part in a joint press conference.
In the meeting of Araghchi and Fidan in Ankara, the two sides part from discussion on the expansion of bilateral ties, focused their talks on the latest development in Syria, and emphasized cooperation for stability in Syria and addressing common challenges.
Araghchi called the resurgence of terrorists in Syria a worrisome development and said that Ignoring Israel's role in the resurgence of terrorism in Syria is a wrong idea.
Iran's Foreign minister added that the source of unrest in the region is Israel.
"We agree with Turkey on Syria moving forward towards peace, stability and preserving its territorial integrity," Abbas Araghchi, Iranian Foreign Minister said in the joint press conference.
He pointed out that the resurgence of terrorist groups in Syrian cities, including Aleppo, threatened the security of Syria, the ominous scope of which would spill over to all of the countries, especially the neighboring countries.
The Iranian Foreign Minister highlighted the role of the Israeli regime in the escalation of tensions in the region and put emphasis on pursuing the Astana Talks over the re-establishment of stability in Syria.
"Syria should not be a center for terrorist groups, Syria should not be allowed to become a safe place for terrorist groups; the project of making Syria insecure is a Zionist project and the role of the Zionist regime should not be ignored," Araghchi stressed.
The two sides agreed to hold the Astana Talks session at the level of the member states' foreign ministers.
Hakan Fidan in his turn said that stability in Syria is very vital for stopping terrorism.
The Turkish president said that Turkey and Iran agreed to cooperate against terrorism in Syria and stressed that Ankara would not allow terrorist groups to exploit instability in Syria.
Fidan further said that in a joint conversation with the Russian Foreign Minister discussed the latest development of Syria according to the Astana format.
