Iran Press/ Iran news: Ali-Akbar Salehi stated in a TV program about the law "Strategic Action to Lift Sanctions and Protect the Interests of the Iranian Nation" and stop the voluntary implementation of the Additional Protocol by Iran: "The law stipulated that two months after the law was passed, Tehran would suspend the implementation of the Additional Protocol if Iran's counterparts in Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, (JCPOA) did not fulfill their promise, which it did."
Salehi referred to the visit of Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to Tehran and his meeting with him, adding that during the meeting, it was announced that Iran would suspend the implementation of the Additional Protocol and Grossi also announced Iran's right.
On February 23, the Islamic Republic of Iran suspended its voluntary actions under the auspices of the JCPOA under the law "Strategic Action to Lift Sanctions and Protect the Interests of the Iranian Nation."
Based on Articles 26 and 36 of JCPOA, Iran has the right to suspend its obligations, in whole or in part, if the other party fails to comply with its obligations.
