Iran Press/ Iran news: In an interview with the German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung, Iranian Foreign Minister stressed that the country is ready to defend itself in case of threat from any foreign power.
Mohammad Javad Zarif pointed out to the E3 countries' obligations toward Iran's nuclear deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), urging the European party to enable the so-called INSTEX trade channel with Iran, reported Iran Press.
He called on the European party to facilitate Iran's oil selling, regardless of US sanctions, unless, he warned, the country will take its third step on Thursday, September 6, 2019, in reducing its commitment to the JCPOA within the frame of the deal.
Elsewhere in his interview, Zarif welcomed France's initiative of mediating between Iran and US for negotiation, yet he said that the US must stop threatening the European parties to exit the JCPOA and abandon the normalization of economic relations with Iran.
The French President, Emanuel Macron said on Monday in a press conference that a roadmap was developed to decrease tension between US and Iran, mentioning the possibility of a meeting of US and Iranian presidents.
"If I know I participate in a meeting the result of which is the construction of Iran and solving people's problem, I will spare no efforts," the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said hours after the US and French presidents' press conference on Monday. 104/215
