Iran Press/Europe: The non-governmental organization that promotes human rights culture, and advocates the rights of the Arab citizens, along with the de trainees families -Abdullah Al-Odah, Lina Al-Hathoul, Areej Alsadhan - launched a full-page advertisement campaign in Friday editions of a number of high-profile international newspapers; Washington Post (USA), The Guardian (UK), LA Times (US), Sueddeutsche Zeitung (Germany) and The Star (Canada) to highlight the massive human rights violations of the Saudi regime and to highlight the massive human rights violations of the Saudi regime and to call for boycotting the upcoming G20 summit in the Arab kingdom.
According to Al-Quds Al-Arabi, Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK said in a statement, "While Saudi Arabia hosts the summit, it continues to detain scholars and activists -men and women-and deprive them of their basic human rights in blatant hypocrisy."
The signatories of the statement stressed that this summit is a sham and used by the Saudi regime to whitewash its bad human rights record and its atrocities in Yemen.
"The summit is being attended by the leaders of the G20 nations around the world including the United States, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, and Italy, nations that pride themselves on upholding human rights. This is the hypocrisy of the highest order and is not compatible with the laws and ethos," the statement added.
The signatories of the statement went on to say, "We call on the Saudi regime to free the political prisoners and to respect their basic rights and legal due process. The Saudi leaders insist on abusing their citizens’ rights as they feel they have full immunity and protection from the international reaction as long as they are involved in deals worth hundreds of billions of dollars."
"The lack of accountability proves that the attending leaders are more concerned with their short-sighted arms deals rather than human rights. This summit gives the green light to the brutal Saudi regime to continue in its daily business of suppressing opponents who dislike its agenda. We join other human rights organizations and activists around the world in raising our voices to demand respect for basic human rights in Saudi Arabia and the region. We won’t stop until the Saudi regime commits to and uphold international laws and human rights within their border and beyond."

Earlier, the European Union (EU) said in a statement that it was focusing on human rights issues in Saudi Arabia.
The reputation of Saudi Arabia and its Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been tarnished after the invasion of Yemen and the brutal assassination of critical journalist Jamal Khashoggi by Saudi government agents.
By hosting international events, including the G20 summit, Saudi officials are trying to restore the country's hated image around the world and public opinion.
