Iran Press/Iran news: Thousands of people are participating in mourning ceremonies in the holy city of Mashhad on Sunday for the funeral procession of the Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani, the late commander of Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) and his companions.
Martyred Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani has been called "the General of the Hearts".
People from both young and old, men and women, have flocked to the city of Mashhad from different cities of Khorasan Razavi province to bid farewell to the Brigadier of Hearts, the late Gen. Qasem Soleimani.
Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was assassinated along with several senior members of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on Friday Morning 3 January at Baghdad International airport.
Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was awarded by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the first Iranian military official to hold Iran’s highest military order, the Order of Zulfaqar after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. 104/219
