Iran Press/ Iran news: A high-ranking Kazakh economic delegation headed by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has visited Iran.
The President of Kazakh arrived in Tehran on Sunday and was welcomed by his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi. They met and talked about bilateral, regional, and global issues.
In the presence of Ebrahim Raisi and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, nine documents of cooperation and memoranda of understanding were signed between Iran and Kazakhstan.
A group of ministers and vice presidents, along with members of the high-ranking political and economic delegation accompanying the President of Kazakhstan, met in a meeting chaired by the two Presidents and discussed ways to develop cooperation and bilateral interaction in the political and economic fields, energy, agriculture, transit of goods and media communications.
Before the meeting, the Presidents of Iran and Kazakhstan also had a bilateral meeting and discussed bilateral, regional, and international issues.
After the meeting, two officials answered questions at a press conference.
Referring to the 50% increase in trade relations between the two countries in recent months, Ebrahim Raisi said: "The economic and trade capacities of the two countries can help increase the volume of trade from the current level to $3 billion in the first step.”
The President of Kazakhstan also said: "We have planned to establish a joint chamber of commerce between the two countries. In this regard, Kazakhstan issues 14-day airport visas to Iranian businesspeople."
