East Azerbaijan (IP) - Iranian Health Minister Bahram Eynollahi has announced the deployment of medical staff to the area where President Ebrahim Raisi's helicopter was involved in an accident in East Azerbaijan province.

Iran PressIran news: In a television interview from Sungun, Azerbaijan, Eynollahi stated: "I am in Azerbaijan's Sungun, all rescue forces are searching."

He acknowledged the challenges posed by the harsh weather conditions and heavy fog, which are hindering the search efforts.

"Unfortunately, due to the harsh weather conditions and very foggy conditions, it is difficult to search," Eynollahi said.

Despite the obstacles, the Health Minister assured that the necessary medical resources have been mobilized to the site. "We have deployed all the medical facilities, ambulance, surgeons, and everyone in the area and we hope to start treatment immediately after the president and his companions are found."

Ayatollah Al-Hashem, the Friday Prayer Leader of Tabriz, and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian were accompanying the President when the accident occurred.

The official sources have not yet provided details on the condition of those on board or the extent of any injuries.

As the search continues amidst challenging conditions, the nation awaits news of the president's safety and the safe return of all those involved.
