Iran Press/ America: The International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) was founded in 1953 in Havana, Cuba. Thirty-four audit organizations formed the group originally and as of 2010, the current membership includes 193 institutions (188 national institutions, the European Court of Auditors, and 4 associated members).
On the sidelines of the meeting, Mehrdad Bazrpash met with his Portuguese counterpart Jose Tavares and proposed cooperating between the two countries by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
Tavares, for his part, welcomed the proposal and said the Portuguese court of audit sought the elevation of the cooperation.
Meeting with his Jamaican counterpart Pamela Monroe Ellis, Bazrpash proposed cooperation, especially in the field of environmental audit, which was welcomed by Ellis.
He then met with his Malaysian counterpart Nik Abdulmajid and called on Malaysia to support Iran's proposal to establish the Audit Court of the Islamic Countries.
Abdulmajid, for his part, agreed with the proposal and expressed hope that Iran-Malaysia relations would be expanded in all areas. Still, in meeting with his Chinese counterpart Zhang Ke, the Iranian official said the two countries are strategic partners and allies against US unilateralism.
Zhang Ke, for his part, expressed hope that the MoU for auditory cooperation will be signed between Iran and China as soon as possible.
