Iran Press/Europe: The head of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh on Wednesday, responded to the US decision to support the continued settlement of the Zionist regime, saying that the US move to support the expansion of Israeli settlements in the occupied territories is a dangerous political crime.
Haniyeh emphasized that the US decision represents that there is an evil coalition targeting Palestine's people and its future generations.
The reaction was in response to the US stand on Monday in which it discontinued its former position and said it supported the Israeli regime's building of settlements on the occupied West Bank.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that US administrations' stance since 1978 on Zionist settlements was not coordinated and now it backs Israeli regime's expansionist policy.
The new US policy which is against decisions of world bodies like the EU and International Court of Justice has outraged the global community, Arab World, and Palestinians.
The Zionist occupying regime has seized more than two hundred hectares of Palestinian land in Al-Khalil in a new crime the occupied territories.
The settlement building is one of the most significant crimes against the Palestinians committed by the Zionist regime.
The UN Security Council in December 2016, by ratifying resolution 2334, condemned the Zionist move and called for a moratorium on settlement building.
