Iran Press/ Middle East: With the political crisis in Syria beginning in 2011, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) gradually distanced itself from the Syrian government and joined the opponents of the Bashar al-Assad government.
Yet, after over 10 years, the Palestinian delegation headed by Khalil al-Hayya arrived in Syria on Wednesday and held a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Al-Hayya announced: "We declare our predilection to cooperate with the Syrian government in support of the Palestinian cause and more importantly, the establishment, stability, unity and unity in Syria."
The Spokesman of Hamas, Abdul Latif al-Ghanou said that the ties with the Syrian government would be resumed to stand against the Israeli regime's infiltration into the Arab world and shore up support for Palestine.
The ties resumed as the Secretary General of Lebanon's Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah expressed satisfaction with the reunion, calling it a wise, courageous and correct act.
