Tehran (IP) - The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has called on the Palestinian people to continue their Etikaf and attend the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the remaining days of the holy month of Ramadan.

Iran PressMiddle East: Since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the Zionist regime's military has increased its attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and various areas of the West Bank, killing several Palestinians and wounding and arresting a large number.

In a statement, Hamas on Thursday called on the Palestinians to have a glorious presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque in the morning and Friday prayers.

Hamas said that the widespread presence of Palestinians in the Al-Aqsa Mosque would prevent the Israeli occupiers from invading the holy site and thwart their sinister plans.

On Wednesday, the movement also praised the glorious presence of more than 250,000 Palestinian worshipers at the Taraweeh prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

"This glorious presence proved that Palestine, Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque have heroes who adhere to the covenant they made and continue to defend its principles and sanctities and sacrifice their lives in this way," the statement said.

Last Friday, more than 150,000 fasting Palestinian Muslims from all over the occupied territories, especially the West Bank and the 1948 regions, entered Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque to offer Friday prayers and express their anger at the Zionists. On that day, the Zionists attacked the Palestinians and wounded a number of them.
