Tehran (IP) - Iran's First Vice President says the government is determined to remove the sanctions imposed on the country.

Iran PressIran News: Mohammad Mokhber said on Thursday that the minor part of the country's problems is subject to the negotiations to lift the sanctions.

Mokhber said there were capacities in the government and the country which could be used to minimize the problems, and the minor issues that might remain were related to the negotiations.

"The Iranian government is determined to lift sanctions and resolve issues, yet it depends on the other side," he said.

The new round of Vienna talks began last Monday, November 29, with the presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the P4+1 countries to lift the US' illegal sanctions. Ali Bagheri is the head of the Iranian negotiating team in Vienna.

After 13 years of intensive international negotiations, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was concluded on July 14, 2015, between Iran on one side and China, Russia, UK, France, US, and Germany on the other side. One week later, UN Security Council ratified Resolution No. 2231 and attached it to Annex A of the resolution.

The US unilaterally withdrew from the agreement on May 8, 2018, and introduced the harshest sanctions in history against Iran in line with his "maximum pressure" campaign against the Islamic Republic.

Iran and the remaining parties to the JCPOA started talks in April in Vienna to remove the US sanctions against Iran.

The US, under the Joe Biden administration, was also participating in the Vienna talks indirectly.
