Iran PressEurope: Addressing professors and students of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday evening, Ghalibaf noted: "With the existing capacities, I predict a good outlook for the relations between the two countries."

He noted: "There are good grounds between the two countries in trade issues and trade cooperation, especially in the north-south corridor, and we hope to see further growth in economic relations between Iran and Russia in the future."

He said: "The time has come for Iran-Russia relations to become a strategic partnership."

“I conveyed the message of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution to President Putin during this visit," he noted, stating that there are many opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

He said: "Russia has been an important partner of Iran in the JCPOA and the developments of the White House will not have any effect on the relations between Iran and Russia."

He stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran never accepted unilateralism, adding: "One of the commonalities between Iran and Russia is the defense of multilateralism at the global level."

Ghalibaf said: "With the lifting of sanctions, our economy was growing, but during the Trump era, sanctions doubled."
