Tehran (IP) - Iran's parliament speaker, in a message to the 16th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, stressed the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to strengthen regional peace and security.

Iran PressIran news: The 16th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the member states of the Collective Security Organization, chaired by Vyacheslav Valodin, the head of the Russian Duma, was held today in Moscow with the presence of parliament speakers of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and the ambassadors of the Islamic Republic of Iran, China, Algeria, and Serbia.

Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Tajikistan are members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the headquarters of the organization is located in Moscow.

The main goal of this organization is military-political cooperation, the development of multilateral structures, and cooperation processes to ensure the national security of the member countries.

The message of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Council, was read by Kazem Jalali, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow.

The Speaker of the Islamic Council in his message emphasized: "The security and military cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia, along with the bravery of General Ghassem Soleimani, brought back security and stability to the region and disrupted the plans of the US and its allies, even though these threats continue."

Ghalibaf stated that common security threats in the region are rooted in the interventions of extra-regional powers.

The actions of the United States and its allies in color revolutions, military aggression against countries such as Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and Libya, and the creation of regional conflicts such as the Ukraine crisis, have complicated the security issues of the region.

Ghalibaf in his message clarified: "Once again, the West Asian region is witnessing another instability and insecurity, which is the result of the actions of the American government and the Zionist regime, and more than seventy days have passed since the attacks and crimes of the Zionist regime against the defenseless and oppressed people of Gaza."

The Speaker of the Islamic Council also said: "During this period, the apartheid regime of Israel has not failed to take any action to violate international laws and rights."

Ghalibaf added that the double standards of the West in dealing with the concept of security and the basic principles of the international system are one of the reasons for the continued instability and expansion of insecurity across the globe."  219
