Iran Press/ Iran News: The Funeral ceremony of the Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani kicked off in Qom with a massive crowd of people in attendance.
The funeral processions of the Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani have started with the attendance of massive crowds in the holy city of Qom. The people have received the body inside Hazrat Masoumeh Holy Shrine.
The United States forces assassinated Lt. General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s pro-government Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) — better known as Hashd al-Sha’abi — in an airstrike at Baghdad’s international airport early on Friday.
He was invited to Baghdad by Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to convey Iran's message to him on Iran and Saudi relations. As Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said, General Soleimani was invited to Iraq to convey the message of Iranian officials about Tehran- Riyadh ties to the Iraqi Prime Minister.
In this regard a ceremony was also held today in Tehran; It was one of the world's largest funeral processions with the attendance of millions of Iranians.205
